Remember this photo? Well, tonight it is finally going to happen. I’ve got a hot date with sushi, Scott Pilgrim and hair dye. New year- new hair.

I’ve always been a spontaneous hair person. I wake up and decide I want to lop it all off. No warning, no appointment. From almost down to my butt to chin length. I’m a habitual biannual locks of lover.

Now I’ve figured out why.

I have been through a lot in the last 7 years. (Okay, who am I kidding- for my whole life, but the hair thing is within the last decade.) Every drastic hair change has come on the heels of my life getting completely out of control or overwhelming. My hair was the one thing I had complete control over. It somehow has helped me gain my center.

The last big lopping for locks of love was when I found out about my cancer. I like my hair the length it is now and just need change. I need to feel like I have control over something again- so bright ass red it is. :)
